Another fascinating stop on the tour is the Voltaggio Art Museum, a collection of over 200 paintings inside the Capuchin Monastery. This collection covers a large time span, from the 16th century to the beginning of the 19th century, with paintings by Piemontese and Ligurian painters and Renaissance painters such as Guido Reni and Perugino and works that can be attributed to Caravaggio. The visit to the imposing Gavi Fortress will be an occasion to enjoy the fascination of history. The ancient fortress overlooking the city was built in the 10th century and was often the seat of conflicts, sieges, and fundamental battles defending the Republic of Genoa and its territory. Don't miss the panorama of the surrounding hills from the top of its walls.
